The Sustainable Economic Development Initiative (SEDI) mission is to promote sustainable economic prosperity through ecological health, social equity and a resilient economy.  SEDI expanded its role in the community as a subsidiary of the NARBHA Institute. One of the environmental factors impacting wellness in northern Arizona is supportive housing. Supportive housing is a combination of housing and services intended to help people live more stable, productive lives. Supportive housing is widely believed to work well for those who face the most complex challenges including individuals and families confronted with mental health challenges.

The NARBHA Institute has commissioned a systematic 12-month long Community Needs Assessment to respond to rapidly changing community needs validated through a comprehensive community assessment process. The outcome and strategies developed will ensure The NARBHA Institute’s ongoing value to the communities we serve as they work to improve population health, hunger, homelessness, chronic disease, work force development, and wellness promotion.

Integrated wellbeing includes different individual and collective dimensions that interact together in complex ways.  On an individual basis, these dimensions include physical, emotional, social, intellectual and occupational wellness.  On a collective basis they include education, economics, housing, geography, transportation, food security, and healthcare.  The NARBHA Institute is addressing the individual and collective integrated wellbeing disparities, needs, and opportunities for intervention in northern Arizona.
